| Abstract |
It commences with a letter from the Intergovernmental committee for European migration 1958 invites unqualified Greek men to migrate to Australia. Letter mentions : "if you are interested in migration, and you are a single man, please attend our offices Sofokleous 1 Athens, room 414. Keep in mind you will have to attend classes of English language for 4 months prior your trip. If you progress, time might be reduced." Then, a newspaper cut from Pyrsos follows 11/12/1959 including poems about "solitude" and "Farewell to Bonegilla". Another cut (unknown Greek newspaper) refers to the strike of over 4,500 unemployed men from diverse backgrounds in Bonegilla, due to lack of work opportunities . |
