This atlas forms part of the complete five volume voyage account of the Indigenous people, places and animals encountered by Nicolas Baudin's expedition to Australia between 1801 and 1803. It provides a parallel source of information to Matthew Flinders' surveys and publications made over the same period. After Baudin's death, responsibility for publishing the results of the expedition fell to Louis de Freycinet and zoologist Francois Peron.
