Diary is accompanied by an additional typescript translation with annotations by Israel Saks's daughter, Rose. Israel Saks was a distinguished communal worker - he took leading roles in many Jewish organisations: Keren Ytayesod, JNF, the first Zionist movements in Melbourne Wefare Society, Bialik School and later Mount Scopus College where three of his grandchildren were amongst the first lot of students.
