Description from source	A volume assembled by the Library from various sources including Australian Museum, 1902; Helenus Hope Scott Wallace, 1925; Rusden; R.M. Dukes, 1931 and Mrs Alec Thomson, 1944. These papers were bound into a volume by the Library after 1917. The papers were removed from the volume for preservation work in 1982. DOCUMENTS 1833-1841, 1853 Includes certificate of attendance at lectures, 1833-1834, from the Royal Great Britannic-Hanoverian University, in German with English translation (Australian Museum number H 435); other certificates of attendance, in German and Latin; passport no. 12328, 1841, in German; declaration by Leichhardt’s mother concerning his estate, 1853, in German with English translation. CORRESPONDENCE 3 Aug. 1841-1 June 1848 Includes letters written by Leichhardt to Helenus Scott, Gaetano Durando, William Nicholson, George Leslie, James Macarthur, Dr George Bennett, Thomas Rusden, and photographic copies of letters to Mark Nicholson; letters received by Leichhardt from correspondents including Gaetano Durando, John Gould, W.B. Clarke, James Macarthur and Robert Lynd. In English, German and French.
