George Virine was born Yuri Millievich Ezersky in Moscow, on 15 March 1920. The manuscript and photographic archive of Brisbane Sculptor George Virine (1920-2017), documenting his life and career from his early days in Moscow until his death in Brisbane in 2017. The collection consists of copy letters from the artist to patrons, sitters and friends, letters to the editors of various newspapers, correspondence with the John Birch Society and the Anti-Communist League of America, albums of photographs documenting George Virine's life, works and exhibitions; catalogues for art exhibitions, realia, ephemera and personal scrapbooks.
