Diary of Lutheran missionary Johann Meischel, born in Augsburg in Bavaria. The early part of the diary covers the time Meischel worked as a missionary in the Gold Coast region of Africa. Later in the journal he was living in Mount Gambier, South Australia, the Mount Gambier Lutheran cemetery is named Meischel Park Cemetery in his memory.
