In 1999, George Koulouris, a tailor and a Greek member of the community went on holidays to Greece at a small village in Corfu. As he was trying to fix the roof of his old house in Corfu, he found hidden the collection of the Greek newspaper Avgi. The collection was invaded by rodents, leaving the issues partially damaged. George Koulouris brought these to Australia and donated them to the Hellenic Historical and Cultural Centre.
