Running title: Journaal wegens een voyagie na't Zuid-land. 24 p.; 20 cm. (4to) Now attributed, by Schilder, to the Nyptang's upper-surgeon Mandrop Torst. Previously attributed by Robert to second in command, Gerrit Collaert. Usually referred to as Vlamingh's journal. Also published as a part of: Historie des Sevarambes, volkeren die een gedeelte van het darde vast-land bewoonen, gemeenlyk Zuid-land ... / Denis Vairasse d'Allais. Amsterdam, 1701. Account of Vlamingh's 1696-1697 expedition surveying the west coast of Australia from Rottnest Island to Vlaming Head. It was the first, and for long the only account of the expedition, based on the journal kept aboard the Nyptang, and not on Vlamingh's account. |
