Collection includes correspondence with friends in Greece, and in Newcastle, correspondence with Greek associations( Messinian, Kalavriton), the Federation of the Greek Orthodox Communities in Australia, a letter from his good friend Vasso Kalamaras, and correspondence with the established Greek author Giorgos Kanarakis (who wrote about the Greek literature works in Australia and New Zealand) Αll friends, and readers of his newspaper and satiric magazine, write to him with admiration and respect to his work and his humanitarian actions. Part of the collection includes poems written by Lambis, and 2 original copies of his satiric magazines Koρνίζες. Also, his personal diary from when he got imprisoned in Cairo (1972), his lively handwritings describing the beauty of Corfu, manuscripts from Cairo (1938). Found also in the collection: drafts of his unpublished satiric writings (referring to actual Greek figures of the Greek community in Sydney) (1953), extensive collection of original Greek newspaper extracts and cuttings (Kήρυκας, Το Βήμα, Κυριακή, Εστία), sketches (1971) for his magazine Koρνίζες, and posters of Lambis' theatrical tours in Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. Photographic album with name tags (including Melina Merkouri, Mikis Theodorakis, George Papandreou, Manoli Angelopoulos (singer), Thanasis Veggos, Nana Moushouri and others) old photos from the Greek Herald, rom Europe, Egypt, and Australia. Part of the collection contains 2 issues of the Greek theatre magazine (1949) Λούνα Πάρκ, Book of Theatre Studies by Dimitri Konstantinidi, theatrical newspaper extracts from the arrival of Kalkoutas' sisters in Australia, reference letter from the Greek - Egyptian journal (1975) Phos, a poem from his friend Vasso Kalamaras, music written by Lambis. Another box includes Lambis' theatrical plays (1944) from Cairo and Australia, translated in Greek and in English. Another folder includes extracts and complete Greek newspaper, O ΉΛΙΟΣ - εγκυκλοπαιδική επιθεώρηση, from 1948 |
