Milet-Mureau, Générale de Brigade dans le Corps du Génie, Directeur des Fortifications, Ex-Constituant, Membre de plusieurs Sociétés littéraires de Paris. Volume set with accompanying atlas detailing the journey of Jean-François de Galaup, comte de Lapérouse, who was appointed to lead an expedition around the world by Louis XVI in 1785. During the expedition Lapérouse travelled to Easter Island, Hawaii, Alaska, California, Macau, Japan, Russia, Samoa, Tonga, and Australia. The set is composed of material sent back to France by the expedition before it was lost in 1789.
