This study of Australia and New Zealand is the result of a trip by the author in 1915. Though the introduction contains an overview of the geography, climate, political structure, and economy of Australia, the majority of the work belongs to the travel genre that recounts various unrelated excursions. The work draws on an impressive bibliography of English language official reports, government documents, tourism reports, as well as travel books, photograph collections, biographies and histories. The author of the preface expresses his hopes that the work will become a reference for future Japanese travelers to Australia.
