Abstract	Photocopy of a ms account (118pp, with several associated documents), written in 1982, of his experiences as an Italian in the United Kingdom at the outbreak of the Second World War when he was working as a tailor in London, describing his arrest in early 1940 and internment in Warth Mill camp at Bury (Lancashire) before being shipped out in the SS ARANDORA STAR in June 1940, vividly recalling the sinking of the ship after it was torpedoed en route to Canada and the rescue of the survivors by a Canadian destroyer, subsequent transportation to Australia in the SS DUNERA in appalling conditions, and his subsequent internment in the Tatura and Loveday camps until early 1944 when he was released for civilian work in Melbourne before returning to England in September 1946.
