Description from source |
The Chinese Citizens' Society of Melbourne, opened a school for the teaching of their ancestral language, which has proved an outstanding success from its inception. Originally intended for children only, the demand has been so great that special classes have had to be arranged for adults as well. All lessons are free - under a portrait of their late Chinese republican leader, Dr Sun Yat Sen, Mr Bruce Lew teaches his class the basic sounds and characters of the Cantonese language [photographic image] / photographer, Don Edwards. 1 photographic negative: b&w, acetate
